I love this idea of combining chia seed with acai! This bowl contains so many antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins and is what I like to call a sustainable meal...meaning your going to feel fueled after it, not like your still hungry. I’m a huge advocate for meals that are sustainable because this will reduce mindless snacking in between meals and you can direct your energy towards other parts of your life rather than being hungry all the time. So how do you make a meal sustainable?

I’ve been doing quite a bit of eating out recently, which I definitely try to limit on a day by day basis. Several reasons for this including not being cost effective, not knowing what I am consuming, ingredient quality and salt retention🙅🏼♀️
I promote balance, having a healthy mindset, and being able to “have the best of both worlds”(love health and fitness but also enjoy eating out with friends, indulging, not feeling any guilt and so on) so I don’t feel bad or mad at myself for eating out at restaurants, but I do definitely notice changes in my body and the way I am feeling when I don’t prepare my own food, which is why I’m going to try and make a point the next couple of days to eat lots of fresh, local and healthy meals from home✔️
I just compiled a bunch of helpful tips and tricks to eat out healthier, currently live on the blog. Going to restaurants is of course unavoidable, and I would never recommend avoiding a social situation just because you are worried about nutrition or calories❌Live ya life people!💃🏻

My healthy grocery haul for the week😀
Super greens, kale, wild blueberries, parsnips, eggplant, parsley, local tomatoes, ginger, cauliflower rice, raspberries, red cabbage, frozen broccoli, purely Elizabeth ancient grain oatmeal, cage free eggs, raw almond butter and a couple of Bulletproof and Primal Kitchen paleo nutrition bars! 🌈❤️💚💛🍅🍠🥗🥙
Last night, I baked the eggplant, parsnips, and a few sweet potatoes and carrots in the oven for meal prep purposes. I also cooked up the cauliflower rice (really simple, just used a bit of bone broth and coconut aminos, left it to simmer). I use kale and spinach as a base of all my meals, and in smoothies as well so it always goes to good use✅
Here’s a great tip for grocery hauls and food preparation. Do your grocery shopping on Sunday, and once you get home…DON’T PUT AWAY THE FRESH FOOD. Instead, prepare it for the week! Bake some veggies, stir fry, chop them up and put them in glass containers. Make a green smoothie or salad with your greens. I find this advice so helpful because if I don’t prepare the food right away when I have time, I find that I make excuses throughout the week (ie. I’m too tired from work and don’t feel like meal prepping a ton of food), so then the food goes bad and therefore goes to waste. I really hate wasting fresh food, especially when I think about the populations who struggle to afford fresh, healthy food. I highly recommend utilizing this tip. If you don’t want to fully prepare your food, at least wash it and store it, so you will be more likely to use it next time rather than having things rot away in the bottom drawer of your fridge👍🏻

Ingrediants👇🏻
🔻1/4 cup almond flour 🔻2 tbsp cacao powder
🔻2 tbsp maple syrup
🔻1 tsp coconut oil
🔻1 tsp vanilla extract
🔻1 large egg
All you do is whisk everything together until combined, pour it into a mug and microwave for 1-2 minutes until cooked through👌🏻Top with whatever you like... chocolate chips, coconut flakes, fruit😋
