Meeting the Owner of my Favorite Skincare Brand: Osmia Organics
In June of 2017, I attended an Aromatherapy Wine Tasting Event with my mom at Follain in Beacon Hill, and I got to meet the owner of Osmia Organics; Sarah Villafranco. She is everything that she appears to be online and through social media, and more! It was an absolutely amazing experience to meet her. Sarah used to be a doctor, before transitioning to natural skincare. You can definitely say she knows her stuff. She explained all the different benefits of essential oils to us, and allowed us to taste different types of wine after smelling each oil. Smelling an oil completely changed the taste of the wine, which was amazing!
I wrote about all the reasons I love Osmia in my blogpost here, and meeting Sarah just confirmed all of the reasons why I love it so much and am so loyal to this company. Sarah is very transparent about what she believes, and is completely no B.S. She is logical and rational, and can speak to some of the myths about the skincare industry, even the natural skincare industry. I seriously felt like I was meeting a celebrity! Also, I found out she has the same exact birthday as I do (July 11th). How cool is that!?!
If you guys have never been to Follain, it is absolutely incredible. I highly suggest checking it out if you’re from the Northeast! Follain has two stores in Boston and a pop-up store in Nantucket as well. They only sell brands that contain ingredients that will benefit your skin, nothing artificial, chemically processed, or dangerous for your body. As I’ve said before, natural skincare is so, so important because it is an unregulated industry, and what you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream. So many products nowadays contain chemicals and artificial ingredients that can cause disease overtime. It’s so important to read labels, and I love shopping at Follain because I know everything I purchase will not negatively affect me. You guys already know I love Osmia, as I have mentioned before my skincare routine on my blog, but there are some other brands sold at Follain that deserve a shout out.
Besides Osmia, what other brands do I love?
Some of my all time favorite brands are Rahua, which sells natural hair products. I love using their color care shampoo, conditioner, and hair masks when my hair needs some damage control. Using natural hair products is also very, very important because like the skin, what you use on your hair can also negatively impact your health if the ingredients are artificial and contain chemicals. In addition, when you wash your hair, the suds end up going onto your face so the product is being absorbed into your skin that way as well. Many people break out from using crappy hair products, and don’t even think to read ingredients on popular shampoo/conditioner brands.
Another one of my favorites is W3ll People makeup. W3ll people is an all-natural, cruelty free brand that contains no fillers, petrochemicals, or petroleum by-products. They utilize essential oils, and hydrating formulas with aloe in their products. Their makeup is mineral based, so it is not heavy and gives a fresh, beautiful look when applied.I am in love with their Bio-Correct Multi Action Concealer, BioBrightner and Invisible Powder. I use these products when I am looking for more of a “no makeup” makeup look.
One Love Organics is definitely my next favorite.
I need to give a special shout-out to this product: The Vitamin B Cleansing Oil.
I seriously am OBSESSED with everything about this amazing product. It smells so good, it’s an all-natural and it gets my makeup off like NOTHING else does. When I have heavy makeup on, I first wash my face with this product and then start my regular skincare routine. It’s so easy! I have stopped using those face-wipes you can buy from the drugstore because they are so wasteful/bad for the environment, and additionally, scrubbing your face with a face-wipe is quite damaging and impacts the delicate acid-mantle of the skin. I highly recommend getting an oil-cleansing product to remove your makeup before bed. If not the one above, use organic coconut oil or jojoba oil, which also gets the job done nicely. I’m sure you all already know this, but sleeping with makeup on is one of the WORST things you can do to your skin. Your skin needs to repair itself while you are sleeping, and if you have heavy makeup on, that makes this process nearly impossible. No matter how tired you are, how lazy you are etc, TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP BEFORE BED!!! Trust me. I also love the Vitamin D Skin Spray from OneLoveOrganics. It’s so refreshing, and hydrating, and again it smells wonderful!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post on natural skincare! I love all things Green beauty, so if you have any questions please let me know!
Let me know what you think!
